Q. If it is raining will training still be on?
A. If
it has been raining ring the council wet weather line listed on this page and
it will advise whether fields are available for training. If the field where
you train has
Been closed
by council then under no circumstances should you train. If the ground is still
open then it is up to the individual team to decide whether they train however
please use commonsense and stay away from heavy traffic areas such as goal
mouths. Please note that should it continue to rain after the council have inspected the fields the club at its discretion close
the grounds for training.
A. If
it has been raining firstly ring to see if Council has closed the grounds. If
they have closed all grounds then no games will be played. Where only isolated
grounds are closed it may be possible that your game be moved to another
available pitch. You will be notified by the Club Competition Secretary of the
outcome of any game changes or cancellations.
A. Games
can be called off due by the following
-
Council if they decide to close all
the grounds
-
MWFA if they determine there are not
sufficient playable grounds to complete a full round of matches
-
The Club can close the ground should
it determine at anytime the grounds are unplayable
-
The referee can cancel the game
prior or during should the pitch become unplayable
A. Once
the ground has been closed under no circumstances is any game to be played on
that pitch for the remainder of the day.
Q. If
the games were called off on Saturday are games for Sunday automatically off?
A. If
council have closed all grounds then they will be
closed for the entire weekend. If it closed by other parties such as MWFA, the
club or referee then it may be
Possible that matches on Sunday will still be played depending on the state of
the pitch.
Q. If I am
unsure what do I do
A. Do not
assume that your game is automatically off. In most cases the Competition
Secretary or a representative of the club will contact the team coaches and
managers to advise them if the game is cancelled or changed. If you are unsure
please contact the Club Competition Secretary who will advise you accordingly.
Q. If the
game is cancelled will the match be replayed?
A. In most
cases where possible the MWFA will try to reschedule matches for a later date
subject to ground availability. However due to the large number of players in
the Manly Warringah competitions and a dire ground
shortage it cannot be guaranteed that matches will be replayed. Normally
matches involving sub junior team being U6, U7, U8, U9
& Ladies U10 will not be rescheduled. The club Competition Secretary will
advise you in due course of any rescheduling of matches
