Notes
U/10 and U/11 Grading:
Manly Vale FC encourages all U10s and U/11s to be graded. While we appreciate the essence of young footballers wishing to continue to play with their close friends we never-the-less start a legitimate process of grading as they work through the junior ranks. It is important that players are graded and come together in a team that is commensurate of their abilities. This ensures that the team remains balanced and competes against other club teams of similar ability within the competition. The U10-U11 are the key development years before they move onto a full field with a full quota of players for competition points. Hence, teams and friendships continue to evolve bearing in mind that football caters for all ability and skill levels.
In saying that we do place some secondary weighting to friends wishing to continue to play football with each other if they are of a similar standard. It is important however in this regard that each player’s parent reflects that same desire and nominates the players/friends he or she wishes to play with at point of registration. Provided they are of similar ability, although no guarantee, it is feasible that they may be retained within the same team.
Players not graded will generally be allocated to a team at the sole discretion of the grading committee.
