ℹ️ Why do we grade?

Manly Vale FC encourages all players from U9 and up to be graded. While we appreciate that young footballers often wish to play with close friends, we implement a legitimate grading process as they move through the junior ranks.

The Goal: To place players in a team that reflects their current ability. This ensures the team remains balanced and competes against other clubs of a similar standard, making the game more enjoyable for everyone.

Note: U9–U12 are key development years before moving onto full-field competition. Teams and friendships naturally evolve during this time.

🤝 Playing with Friends

We do place secondary weighting on friends wishing to play together, provided they are of a similar standard.

If you wish to play with a friend:

  • Parents of both players must reflect this desire.
  • Nominate the friend(s) clearly at the point of registration.
  • While we cannot guarantee placement, it is feasible they may be retained in the same team if their grading results are comparable.

📋 Grading Policy

Players who are not graded will generally be allocated to a team at the sole discretion of the grading committee.
