As you may be aware, Football Australia launched their new Play Football system this season. Based on the feedback we’ve received and our own experience, it seems the launch may have been premature and could have benefited from another season of testing before going live.
We completely understand the frustration—really, we do. The registration and grading period is already a busy time for volunteers, and this new system has significantly increased our workload.
Below we have collated information, tips and support articles to help guide you through this process.
Please note
- Do NOT even attempt to try on a mobile phone – please use a laptop or desktop
- Chrome seems to be the best web browser to use
- If you have previously tried to register and run into problems, please completely log out and clear your browser so that it forces you to login in again when you next try

- NOTE – PLEASE SELECT THE CORRECT AGE GROUP AND ALSO DO NOT CHOOSE MIXED IF YOU WANT TO PLAY GIRLS ONLY
- If you are a senior player registering yourself to play then choose MYSELF, if you are registering your child choose “SOMEONE ELSE”
- If you are SUPER LUCKY your family linked records will appear here………….but majority have not merged to the new system
- If you are one of the lucky ones, select the relevant record and USE RECORD
- If you are not so lucky IGNORE AND CLOSE
- Next up is the TERMS AND CONDITIONS PAGE
- You must click on each blue box to open the terms rather than just ticking the boxes below if you do not you can not proceed
- They will turn into green ticks
- Next page no action required, just read then hit start
- Personal Details – this is YOU, not your child – name, mobile, email
- Once you hit next you are onto Participant Details – this is when you start to enter your child (or yourself if you are a senior player registering yourself)
- If the system now finds your child’s record great please select that, you will then get a message that a verification code has been emailed
- If not you will need to create a new record
- From there it should be straight forward, please take the time to fill in everything. The system will let you move through each page even if you have missed something. But when you reach the end it wont let you pay
- Keep an eye on the blue box on the left, there are 8 steps and each one should have a green tick. If not, you can not submit your registration and pay
